The Nashville Boogie is Nashville's newest and, in our opinion, best music festival featuring the sounds of the 40s and 50s that Nashville was built on. At this massive indoor festival located at the historic Gaylord Opryland Resort your ears will get the pleasure of hearing all sorts of Rockabilly, Country, Western Swing, and Hillbilly Boogie!
The Boogie kicked off on a Thursday night at the Nashville Palace this year- and what a great start it was! The bands were hoppin', the crowd was jivin' (and square dancing, and swing dancing- and what a treat that was!), and the cars and all the cool cats in their vintage finery were the best eye candy you could ask for! It really set the tone for the rest of the weekend.
The Boogie was off to a swingin' start! The next 3 days were packed full of the most fun any kustom kulture kid, music fanatic, and vintage lover could imagine! They included an amazing line up of musicians, an indoor car show, fantastic vendors, a vintage fashion show with Nashville's own Riley Reed, and a pin-up pageant hosted by Sabina Kelley with help from King Dado Deluxe!
The event's creator Jason Galaz and his wife Katie got the opportunity to drive the Munster Koach thanks to Butch Patrick (aka Eddie Munster) who was there with his cars and also served as a judge for the pin-up pageant.
We set up a photo booth for a portion of Friday and Saturday to snap some images of all the lovely folks in their finery! As vintage clothing lovers- we were jealous of some of these cats' digs!
The pin-up pageant was a blast- the girls were all so lovely!
And let's all forget the mall- all your shopping and vintage dreams could happen right here. There were some amazing vendors here- including those selling custom made purses and wallets, custom jewelry (shout out to our pals at the Wreckerd Mill!), some amazing vintage clothing (anybody check out our friends at Vivian Belle Vintage? They had some rockin' pieces!), beautiful vintage recreation clothing, amazing artists, and some fantastic photographers like Florence Photography who was set up with her paper moon for vintage recreation photos, and Shannon Brooke who was there with her beautiful new book Girls.
The dates for the 2016 Nashville Boogie have now been posted and tickets are available! Be sure to check out www.nashvilleboogie.com for more information. This event- and really any event created by Mr. Galaz- is not to be missed! Thanks Jason for such an amazing weekend, we can't wait till next year!
